In May 2011, the Massachusetts Department of Higher
Education launched "29 Who Shine," a program to recognize

outstanding students representing each of our 29 public
campuses. The honorees, chosen because of their academic

achievements and record of student leadership and

community service, stand poised to contribute greatly to the

civic life and economic well-being of the state. Whether

furthering their education or entering careers here in

Massachusetts infields as diverse as education, public policy,

medicine, creative arts, and engineering, they truly embody

the vibrant future that we all envision for the Commonwealth

RCC STUDENTS GO TO MIT

RCC's Florise Luc and Venisa Dodi (both Liberal Arts majors) have been selected for the MIT Summer'13 Research
Program. This is the celebrated residential summer internship program. They'll receive extensive hands-on instruction
and experience in social science research methods, and a stipend of $4,000.

RCC faculty members of the RCC/MIT Associate Campus Program are proud of their achievements, which shed a bright
light on RCC's academic program.

Over the summer MIT's Professor Ofer, RCC Professors Foote and Latif, and Associate Dean Jose Alicea will provide

Florise and Venisa with advising and academic support as a

team.
